Hazara Classic

This colorful design represents the outfits worn by the Hazara ethnic group. Legend purports the Hazara people are descendants of Genghis Khan's conquests throughout the region dating back to the 12 Century.  Hazara women and girls commonly wear hats with their outfits and wear scarves over the decorative hats.
The artist is Aziza and the cost is $25

Zangirak Dozi

This is a light purple or lilac outfit with beautiful silver trim and has some muti-colored fringe trim on the bottom of the dress and scarf.  The artist is Atifa and the price is $25

Rastagar-Woven traditions of Afghanistan

Punky Monkey Missions had a wonderful opportunity to acquire some beautiful, handmade outfits that were made in Afghanistan for 18" dolls like American Girls Dolls.

A little tag comes with each outfit and has the artists name and the design.  Each says,

"Rastagar supports the work of more than twenty women, most of whom are the primary wage earners for their families.  All of them have lived through the trauma of their husbands and other family members being maimed, tortured, traumatized or killed during the wars and so have left them as the sole providers for their families.  They are strong women and they are survivors."

Not only are you helping support Punky Monkey Missions by purchasing a doll outfit but you are also helping support these women!

Each outfit is unique and different from all others and one of a kind.  All outfits come with dress, pants, shoes and a head covering scarf called a burqa.  If you would like to purchase an outfit for a special doll in your life email me at punkymonkeymissions@cox.net

If you are looking for a last minute gift Punky Monkey Missions has cute flower clips.  $5 for large and $3 for the small!  They look cute as a hair clip or attached to a headband or even a hat!

Debbie Macomber-THANK YOU!

Punky Monkey Missions is VERY blessed to have so many people help us with donations this year including the famous Christian author Debbie Macomber!  She wanted to help with our scarves and hats for the homeless so she sent me a bunch of yarn and I've already made about 10 scarves!  I know that Debbie Macomber is a knitter and I would love to learn to knit some day too.

My mom and great-grandma read her books all of the time and so they were both very excited about this donation.  If you are interested in her books here is a link Debbie Macomber books.

Blessed to Bless

My mom is friends with this crazy lady named Dawn (crazy funny not crazy weird) and she has a blog called Dawn's Diversions well Dawn is on Facebook too and my mom saw a post about Blessed to Bless bags and she told me about it and I read this blog called Boyd's Crazy Mama which got the idea from Joy's Hope and it really inspired me to do more with my community besides the scarves, hats and sleeping mats, yes they are all nice and good but these bags are really GREAT!!!  So once I put the bags together I'm going to go out with my mom, dad and brother and we are going to pass them out to anyone that looks like they might need them plus we are making sandwiches to pass out too.  I'm also going to keep some in the car for when I see the people on the side of the road with the NEED HELP/WILL WORK FOR FOOD SIGNS. If you would like to help me then I'm looking for donations of the following:
My mom has been doing a lot of couponing and getting things for free or cheap too so that will help a lot!
